Online registration on the new website has a bit of an issue with people sending in or e-mailing their backup documentation.  Some people did not realize that they need to send in the docs.

137 people had signed up online as of yesterday. (1/11/11)

Field fees – Chris Fox had meeting with mayor to discuss some sort of reduction or waiver of $14K fees for the year.

The school fees will remain the same at $7K for the year.

The YMCA fields are covered with light coating of light moss.  We will need to get by there to spray those fields.

Netting at Sunset is gone.  Chris is hoping that Mike Miller picked it up.  We will need to pick some up so that they can be re-installed.

Concession Stand at Sunset – we should look at getting a different lock installed that would prevent break in.  Steve Byorick has an idea on a different scenario for the side open door for securing it.

Steve Byorick – We are using Legends for the pictures again.  The date is set for that for Saturday 3/19 at Brannan.  We should post on website that its at Brannan not YMCA

Perry – 24th and 25th of March at FW National is hosting a pre-season Softball tourney that weekend.

Minors TOC pre-season tourney may not happen this year.

Perry received check for $5K from the Mariners and KIRO for 12U All Stars from last year.

May have our own juniors team instead of sharing a team with another league.

Working with other LL’s re: number of players and maybe combining teams if we have a lack of players for the softball program.

Jerry Bates – We had a great month – we took in more money than we spent this month.  Balances:  CD $128, 372

$ 18,850 checking

$ 1,260 money market

$ 901 savings

Scholarship offerings:  Little League will assess each situation separately and will grant them some sort of scholarship money.  At sign ups send any inquiries to Chris Fox, Steve Byorick or Wendy Buchanan so they can make a decision on a case by case basis.

Mike Ellsworth – We are 100% out of the shed and everything is moved to the new location.  He is ready to order additional equipment this year and there is no room in the new place.  Last year we had 3 pallets delivered so Mike is suggesting that we use the Conex at GSA for storage for this year.

There is still a little bit of stuff that needs to be gotten rid of but most of it is going to be used.  We are looking at using Baden instead of League Direct for balls.

John Wood – Nothing new to report but we are looking at beginning to have the manager’s meetings.

Jeff Berg – 2 fall ball sets still out.  We are going to sell them after the season starts not at sign ups.

We are going with the red hats with red lettering and a gray outline.

Scott McGraw – Umpire Chief – getting ready to start looking at umpire clinics for the new year.  He is looking at starting to send something out to previous umpires.

We should have copies at sign ups of the umpire sign up sheets.

Wendy Buchanan – Online Registration

Tryouts – 2nd weekend in February Majors

3rd weekend in February – AAA

All minors and majors girls need to be at tryouts this year (this is new)

Eiji Suji – turned in all registrations for fields for this year already.  Parks and Rec is starting later in the year so we should have more availability for the fields.

He has not heard yet from the school district regarding fees for the school fields.

Stadium is all set for the tryouts.

Kristin Maas – we will be doing apparel as well as concessions.  Focus on Sunset and YMCA and Brannan only during tournament time.

She is going through Don’s Group Attire for the apparel.

Barry Tyrie – YMCA field party for general clean up on the 22nd from 12-4 and the 29th from 9-1

Bleachers need to be moved (we can use Steve Byoricks truck for this)

He will send out an e-mail for what we need those days so helpers can bring what they have.

Charlie mentioned having a sign at sign ups about the composite bats.

Dave Foster – Nothing to report

We need division directors badly.  They are the liaison between the managers and board.  They take care of pitch count and post scores and work on rain outs.

Registration:

In person registration:  Saturday at Supermall is from 11-2

Tuesday at Supermall is from 6-8

Steve Rhodes and Chris Fox have been in contact about the girls softball program.  Steve wanted to come to our meeting to talk about the concern around having 10 year old girls trying out for softball majors.  Then they play majors all year but play 9-10 All-Stars and dominate.

He would like to let the 10 year old girls tryout to play for majors for this season instead of having to play minor softball.

He would also like to let the 10 year olds if they play majors also be able to play 9-10 All Stars.

Motion to adjourn:  Steve Byorick made motion and Jerry Bates 2nd motion

Meeting adjourned at 8:05pm by Chris Fox
